Start your career with us...
Through our work experience, apprenticeship and internship programmes we aim to support people looking to start their careers at Publica where they can develop and learn new skills. We offer a number of great opportunities including:
Publica apprenticeships
We offer apprenticeships that enable an individual to combine paid employment with supported study towards a qualification.
Publica offers a number of apprenticeships and these are advertised regularly at local schools, colleges and universities.
Summer internship programme
Our internship programme is something that we are extremely proud of and since we started the initiative in 2019, we have seen 5 interns go onto secure further roles across the partner councils.
Our summer internship programme offers a number of 10 week placements. Our interns will work on clearly defined projects. We look for candidates who are students or recent graduates and provide a fantastic opportunity for those looking to develop their skills on a meaningful pieces of work.
Work experience
Publica has established links with local schools, colleges and Universities in the that result in a variety of requests every year with our busiest periods in the summer months.
We recognise the important role work experience can play in career development and offer placements across departments and roles within the organisation. Work experience is usually a period of 1-2 weeks spent in a workplace for those who are:
- Still in full time education
- Looking for a career change
- Job Seekers trying to get back into employment

Publica apprentices branch out
Our parking and licensing services will get a helping hand as our customer service apprentices branch out to gain new skills.
Our customer service apprentices based at Trinity Road will soon be taking on more work as part of the new Service Support Team.Special tasks identified by Parking Services and ERS Licensing will be carried out by the apprentices to free up officers to tackle the more technical elements of their service.
The arrangement is mutually beneficial as the teams will receive more support creating a great level of resilience; and the apprentices will be able to build expertise and have the opportunity to learn more skills.
By doing this the apprentices will get to know more about a wider range of services, and this will help them to identify where they’d like to progress in their future careers at Publica.
Amie Lyne, Anna Higgs, Grace Mansell and Hannah Gardner will start on parking support this week.
Amy Kent, Georgia Marion and Hannah Minty will begin Licensing support from 20 July.
