Cheltenham Borough Councillor, Paul McCloskey, has been appointed as the new non-executive director on the Publica board.
Paul will replace his council colleague Wendy Flynn, who is standing down.
With a background in mathematics and engineering, Paul brings a wealth of experience in managing organisational change and development, and IT security in a range of organisations from Royal Mail to BT plc and in the charitable sector.
As a councillor he has been a vice chair of licensing and sat on numerous committees and panels, from planning to treasury management.
Paul, who joins the board on 15 April, said: “I am very much looking forward to joining the board.
“In these difficult economic times, the success of Publica is pivotal to the success of all four of our partner councils. This strategic role well suits my previous experience and is a contrast to my role as an elected member.”
Publica Chairman David Brooks said: "I am delighted to welcome Paul to the Board. His close connection with residents and long career in industry will offer a fresh view for the Board as we move on to the delivery stage of our transformation plan.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Wendy Flynn whom Paul has replaced. Wendy was a key part of the Publica set up and her contribution as a founding board member was really important in our successful launch."
