Publica Group today welcomes new Managing Director, Jan Britton, to the organisation as he starts a handover and induction process.
Jan, who will officially take over from current MD, David Neudegg, in January 2020, was chosen from a strong field of candidates in a recruitment process which culminated in July. He joins the organisation from Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council where he was Chief Executive for nine years.
Between now and the end of December, Jan will be working alongside current Managing Director, David Neudegg, to meet staff, Councillors and stakeholders and to get up-to-speed on the projects and ambitions of the four member councils and of Publica.
Speaking about joining the Publica team, Jan said: “I’m delighted to be getting started and looking forward to spending time meeting everyone in and around Publica. I was attracted to the unique nature of the organisation and this handover period is going to be indispensable in getting a full understanding of the way it all works. I’m excited to be joining at a time when the hard work of David and his team is starting to show results and looking forward to continuing to deliver and to promote the benefits of a shared services approach.”
David Brooks, Chair of Publica’s Board of Non-Executive Directors, welcomed Jan on his first day, saying: “ It’s great to have Jan on board and we look forward to supporting him through this initial induction period in preparation for taking on full responsibility when David Neudegg steps down.”
