About the role…

We have two exciting Senior Officer opportunities for those who wish to further develop their careers in the specialist field of Environmental Protection.  These are posts you can apply for whether you are a recent graduate or have many years of experience in the public or private sectors and are looking for an exciting opportunity within Environmental Health.

These are key roles in a shared service across the beautiful areas of West Oxfordshire, Forest of Dean and Cotswold District Councils providing plenty of places to see and visit whether you love hiking or cycling.

The roles cover a range of statutory duties including environmental protection and noise management or local air quality management and industrial pollution control.  You will be a lead officer in one of these two specialist areas, working alongside a supportive team, providing expert advice and guidance throughout our organisation from an Environmental Health perspective.

Whilst the role will be predominantly home based you will have the option to work from our offices within Cirencester, Witney and Coleford.

You will need…

  • A Relevant Degree (e.g. Environmental Health, Environmental Science)
  • To provide technical expertise, advice and direction to internal and external customers when solving problems or managing risks
  • To apply a high level of expert knowledge within a technical area of expertise and manage sensitive, open ended and complex case or project based work
  • To work in a multi-disciplinary team on technical cases and projects to a highly efficient and effective standard
