About the role…

We have an exciting opportunity for a Hospitality and Events Officer to work with businesses and event organisers to ensure they re-open and operate in a Covid safe manner. You will work with other professionals including the Police, Highways, Fire, Ambulance, Trading standards and Licensing. You will respond to complaints and queries; assess risk assessments; provide advice and undertake site inspections. You will work with businesses to ensure compliance but where this cannot be achieved informally you will take enforcement action.  You will also support and provide information for other LA colleagues.

You will need to be enthusiastic, self-motivated and level headed with a flexible approach responding to changes in rules and regulations as appropriate. The post will suit individuals with experience of hospitality, event management, enforcement, knowledge of the coronavirus regulations or relevant experience.

You will need…

  • A minimum qualification equivalent to NVQ level 3 or A level
  • Experience or knowledge of coronavirus regulations and guidance
  • Experience of enforcement
  • It skills including Uniform
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in dealing with members of the public at a professional and technical level
