Publica is seeking to recruit an Appeals Technician to join our Development Management Team. You will provide administrative support to the Appeals Officer ensuring that Planning Appeals are successfully determined. Helping uphold the planning policies of the council and protecting the Forest of Dean from inappropriate development

You will  case manage the appeals ensuring relevant third parties are notified, dates for venues are arranged and statements are submitted on time. In a small team which also deals with Planning Enforcement you will also provide support to the Enforcement officers.

You will need…

  • A minimum of 5 qualifications equivalent to NVQ level 2 or GCSE at Grade C/4 or above, must include Maths and English
  • Experience in assessing routine situations and carrying out inspections if and when required
  • Ability to remain calm and confident when dealing with challenging customers and environments
  • Ability to resolve routine issues by negotiation
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records
  • Competent in using a range of technology and software packages, including Microsoft and Google
