Staff at Publica have been praised after reaching the finals of the Public Finance Awards.
The business, which provides services to local communities on behalf of their local council, was shortlisted in the Alternative Service Delivery Model of the Year category.
Frank Wilson, Group Finance Director at Publica, said: “Our staff have worked tirelessly since Publica was established just 18 months ago and this recognition is proof of how their efforts are paying off.
“The business model is established and proving to be an innovative and efficient way of improving local services against a backdrop of ongoing financial challenges in the sector.”
Established in November 2017, Publica aims to facilitate savings, create efficiencies, improve resilience and create capacity to support the drive towards service improvements and wider social and economic benefits in each locality.
Together, the councils are expecting to cut around £5.6 million per year by 2020 and £41 million over the next 10 years.
